## The challenge

Orders arrived by phone, email and spreadsheets. The sales team re-keyed every order into the ERP, errors were common, and retailers had no way to check stock or delivery status without calling.

## How we approached it

1. **Discovery:** Mapped the ordering flow with sales and warehouse staff and agreed the three numbers that defined success.
2. **ERP integration:** Built a sync layer for live stock, customer-specific pricing and order status from the existing ERP.
3. **Portal build:** Next.js portal with quick reorder, saved lists, invoices and delivery tracking, shipped in fortnightly releases.
4. **Rollout:** Onboarded retailers in waves with guides and in-app tips, tracking adoption in PostHog.

## Results

- **70%** of orders placed self-serve within six months
- **−85%** order entry errors
- **12 hrs** saved per week for each sales rep

## Tech stack

Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Vercel, Sentry, PostHog
